offered Sunday "primetime" lot # @ Scottsdale Barrett Jackson in January
Okay guys, with much sadness I submitted my application to BJ for the January auction in Scottsdale a few weeks just to see what lot # and time slot they would offer me. I have been intrigued by this whole experience since I started watching it every year on Speed channel. It is nothing short of pure gambling, but what a rush it must be for both buyer and (especially) seller.
I am still hoping to keep my Camaro but with the economy the way it is, my 2 businesses are not performing as well as I would like, and our beloved muscle cars are usually the first thing to go. So I am trying to stay ahead of the ball. But I have to decide by next week (Monday) if I want the lot # or not. The offered lot # is 1570 and is scheduled for between 12 and 4pm Sunday (Speed channel live coverage). I calculate I have more potential upside than downside based on what I think my car would bring on the open market or on ebay. If I accept this lot #, it also gives me 2 months to still enjoy the car, and being in NorCal the weather is still fine to drive. This is a tough call and I am not really ready to make the decision but Monday is my deadline as of now. :_paranoid |
Wow that would be tough. Sorry to here you have to sell it.

Sorry to hear you must sell. But think that a prime selling time might bring more money than trying it on ebay .But thats easy to say not easy watching it go on a no reserve auction instead.Best of luck with what you do. Joe :)

As the previous post mentions, Sunday is not that good of a day for BJ as most people are heading home on that day. The 'demand' drops on that day, and it's all about demand at that place(and a little luck). As far as I can tell, the hype of BJ is over in terms of fetching big or even solid prices for cars there. I would shoot for Ebay. I still see cars selling at fairly solid prices there. With a well-written auction description and some really good photos, you might do well there. Whichever way you go, I hope you get a solid price for your ride.

What is your price range?

Contact Chris Moe, he's looking for a car. Sounds like a suicide mission to me. Tell them you want a better spot or you're not coming.
