Any Lincoln Cont. guys know of any good sites?
Hi guys,
We're building a 69 Mustang here for a customer, and we recently purchased a fully built 460 big block with a new C6 trans for the car, but it came with something a little extra.... a suicide door 68 Lincoln Continental. Motor and trans are on a stand, and out of the car, fully built and ready to go, which is nice for our customer. I'm inheriting the Lincoln, as the customer doesn't want anything to do with it, so we're going to build it as a driver. Anyone know of any cool Lincoln sites, or part suppliers? We're going to paint it black, with a white interior, already has AirRide, and a Ford 9", and I'm thinking 22" Schott Modsports. Thanks for any help. :thumbsup: |
Sounds like a cool build. I would start looking on the mustang sites and other Ford sites. Maybe a link or other info available there.:cheers:
Post some pics, you know the dreaded "worthless without pics" smileys are on the way right? |
my garage would be the perfect site - but I'd have to make a cutout in the garage door. :unibrow:
That was on the short list for my first ride. That and a '32 Ford a Hemi got sold before I got to look at them. As fate would have it - a '68 Camaro was the next great candidate. I'll wait on the obligatory pics in the meantime. |
Thelincolnforum.net is a great site to get all the info on these overlooked beauty's.
parts= kanterauto.com lincolnlandinc.com mobsteel.com(also great pics of recent builds) |
Mobsteel.com is definitely a cool place to look for ideas/custom parts.
I happen to be selling my mobsteel - PM if interested http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/1488284442.html http://www.autotraderclassics.com/fi...sationId=36530 I have a Google Alert for mobsteel - so when previous member posted mobsteel web address it came up in my alert. I'm not a frequent visitor to this forum so please PM to contact me. (if you're not interested in the purchase for yourself - I'm willing to pay a "broker fee/finders fee") |
Jon,
Put a 5.4 DOHC and a 6 speed in it. :cool: |
Here ya go Jon try these guys out they can find the most obscure parts for Lincolns and they have built quite a few impressive ones as well hope this helps.
http://www.mobsteel.com Check out the rides section |
thelincolnforum.net is filled with purists and old geezers who freak out if you use the wrong glass in a side window or the wrong bushing.... they despise my car.
I've had it 10 years so if theres any questions you have feel free to fire off a PM. http://lh3.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/So...0/DSC00390.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/__OT3YJ9o9Ao/Rr...0/IMG_2303.JPG I'll be completely honest with you though: Do not plan on fixing one up/restoring one unless it has TONS of sentimental value, you can dump 50k into restoration and it'll still only be worth 25k... Theres not much of a market for them, and parts are EXPENSIVE. My windshield alone was $1400 and there were 3 in the country and hours of phonecalls. |

Considering how cool they are and how low production numbers were, you'd think they'd be worth more... |

Last thing you want to be doing while driving a lincoln is shifting. They are designed to be relaxed in. I refer to mine as the floating couch.... Hot Rodding a slab side lincoln is silly. They're yachts. |
