Motor is in for the last time

Well,

This weekend was absolutely beautiful here in the Carolinas and I finally dropped my motor and transmission in for the last time...unless I blow it up.

The motor has probably been in and out of that car 50 times over the last 4 years and it is nice to know it has a new home.

That looks great. Always nice when you reach those important moments. I hope you don't need to pull it any more.

Myself I will start that in and out business now, I hope it will only be 10-15 times :D

your motor

Are you going to create you own mounts or are you using someone else's kit to install you motor?

It will go on the stock smallblock enginemounts. I will fabricate the adapterplate à la Street&Perf. from steelplate. I will also fabricate the transcrossmember for the T56.

First step is to get the oilpan modified for the crossmember. I will keep the steeringbox as it is. Since my car is a true Z/28 I already have the good one.

Payton King,

I'm new and would like to get more info about your car. You have not listed very many threads on your own car. However, from what I have seen, it looks like an extensive project. Yes, I know its a 69 Camaro.

These darn cars will keep your pocket empty. LOL

Thanks

Thanks again for the kind words.

The final prep is taking place getting it ready for paint, I am waiting for the rear and springs to get put back together. Took the springs apart and sent them to the powder coater along with the rear end housing.

Roger I have a section on lateral-g home page. It shows a side shot of an LS1 in a stock frame. Obviously that plan has changed. Feel free to email or call me and I will tell you more than you want to know.

Steve, are you talking about the Harrop intake?

Isn't it a great feeling? 1 of many milestones conquered. Looks great Payton..I'm way jealous!! It will be a long time before I get there.

Not really.. i just have a lot of experience dressing up LS1's :)

Are you going with the Harrop? I ditched the idea since they wanted to give me something like $5 off the price of it as a discount.. lol.. sure was nice though..

My frame is on the way though.. WOOT!!
