What to do with my 12 bolt?

I need some help guys. I have a 12 bolt out of a 69 chevelle. It is stock length at 61.5" and I know a 69 camaro is 60". I really want to use this rear end since I already have it and I am not looking to spend any more money than i need to. I wanted to run a slightly more narrowed rear anyway so I would probably end up cutting up a 60" as well. My question is am I going to have any serious issues running this In my 69 camaro? What would you guys recommend doing? Any lengths you would say is best? The car is mini tubbed (DSE). Also any recommendations for rear end shops in the DFW area? Thanks for the help guys. -Jeff Loud

What are your plans for rear suspension (leafs, quadralink, etc)? If you go with quadralink, then the measurements DSE use is 54.75" from flange to flange. This allows 5.5" bs on rim.

Thanks. I am going to stick with leafs for now. I already have the shock box in along with all of the other mini tub components. I would love to go with a quadralink but I am trying to stick to a strict budget. Any suggestions on what I should do with this rear with my current setup. Thanks again guys. -Jeff Loud

I'm currently in the market for a 68-72 Abody 12 bolt.

So if this isn't what you want, give me some details on it and I might consider purchasing it.
I'm looking for a Eaton 3 or 4 series carrier. 3.73, 3.90, or 4.10 gears. So if it's got it's mounts
and in good condition, PM me or email me [email protected]
If this is the right price and the right gears, I can forgoe all the other stuff though.

I'm not on this forum very often, so that's why I said email me.

If you can do the work yourself, cut the brackets off, narrow the tubes and run the big torino ends and then use the bolt on leaf spring perches from DSE. However will all this work, it may pay to sell this to someone needed a 12 bolt for a chevelle and buy a new housing.

You may find its comes out about the same to buy new and sell your current one after buying housing ends, axles etc. The older I get, I find out my time is worth more than it used to be. So making this rear work may or may not be worth it. That is a decision you will need to make.
