Project "Stolen 66" being built on a dime...
so this car is in a totally different class than the works of ART that are being built on most of the pages on this site. But I thought I would add my build as a budget build to counter the big dollar cars out there http://lookpic.com/i/870/HcCXFr4h.jpeg A little background on the car. I've owned this car since I was 16 it was stolen and stripped in 2002 from my driveway in sacramento The theives took EVERYTHING, if it unbolted, it was stolen the 454, the T56, the 17x11 & 17x9 billit specialtes wheels, Seats, dash, carpet, sheetmetal, chrome, Even the dame trim tag off the firewall!!...you name it, they took it ALL! and it was dumped on the side of the road only 24hrs after being stolen. And after I had to pay $450 dollars to get a rolling chasis out of impound! So, it sat in the garage untouched for a few years, It was tough to think about having to build it all over again. over the years I threw a parts and time at it a few times a year. 8 years later, I actually drove it again for the first time today.... http://lookpic.com/i/558/R0JfKxpm.jpeg http://lookpic.com/i/265/lpOqxlSm.jpeg As it sits right now, its a '90 Camaro roller 305 (blah) and a T5 trans ($400 for both) C5 wheels 18x9.5 rear 17x8.5 front ($300 for wheels and tires) ($200 billet adapters) $500 front clip with all chrome (pretty beat up) '02 ford focus seats $40 at U-pull it Home made Serpentine pulley kit ($100) The Thieves left all the suspension along, so I still have hotchkis springs and PST bushings at all four corners as you can see, I'm building this on a budget, so its a bit of a junkyard dog... Still have a lot of work to do, but finishing the exhaust and getting to drive it today got me all fired up again to get this thing back on the road... |
Welcome! I'm glad you got your car back, most are not so lucky.

great that you got the car back. what bellhousing did you use for the trans i'm thinking about using a t5 but the stock camaro bell mounts the trans at a angle
|
I used the stock camaro bell housing. with the hydraulic mount for the slave cylinder. (DSE bracket for master cyl.)
Yes the tranny is at an angle, but the tranny mount sits flat. |
