Cheapest way to ship 12 bolt ??
Looking to ship a 12 bolt rear end from Dallas to Chicago.
Any ideas on what a 12 bolt fully dressed WITH disc brakes would weigh ?? AND what the best/cheapest method to ship would be?? Pickup from a business (I believe) to a business. Got a T56 coming from 50 miles NE of Dallas as well for just $110 through a broker. I tried to do it myself truck freight and the quote was $225..... Any input is appreciated. |
My Currie rear end was delivered via UPS, that housing was in one box, each axle in their own box, and the 3rd member in a shipping case. Maybe with taking apart the 12 bolt you could do the same and save some money? I don't know, just throwing that out there.
Have you looked into FedEx Frieght? |
My T56 was shipped via DHL.
Drop shipped on a pallet. |
Try www.uship.com I had a great experience using it and saved quite a bit. The independent shipper picked up and dropped off door to door.

Try freightclick.com , we talk to Aaron there.

Thanks for the leads guys.
Going to call each and get a quote. I don't want to break it down. Just ship as is. |
3 boxes fedex ground will be the least. The last one I did was less than $100.00
spit it up housing with pinion carrier with ring axles |
Break the entire rear end differential assembly down is cheaper ??
To put it all together, require any special tools or is it just pack and play kinda deal ?? I know rebuilding it requires setting bearing preloads, etc. Not sure so I'm just asking so I don't end up having to go to a shop to have it put back together. It will cost me the same in the end either way if I have to do that. |
Try Freightquote.com and if you can get a wooden rear crate use it, if not strap it to a long skid.
