Storing Magazines
 

I have to get my magazines in order! How do you guys store your magazines? I need some ideas!

In a big giant stack in the store room. :lol:

I have seen a few different types of sleves and or binders made for just such use. Maybe someone will chime in with where to find them? Sometimes the magazines offer them on thier web sites too.

I don't keep the entire magazine. I cut out the articles/features/photo's I want to keep and recycle the un-used remains. I put the article in a clearview sheet protector - and file it. I have 3 inch binders that break the topics down, and I file them away in order. I have a couple binders of just 'ideas' that I cruse through at times for inspiration

Example:

A binder for Body. In that binder are tabbed sections for General Processes, Cost estimating, Tooling, Stripping, Panel alignment, filler, Primer, blocking, paint, stripes/flames, polish, detailing.

Then if I have a question on do I put fillers under primer but on bare metal first and with what grit paper for best grip - I have quick access to it without sifting through billions of magazines.

Yup, it's weird....

I always leave them unloaded so the feed spring doesn't . . . oh . . . never mind. :)

Thats a pretty good Idea mine just go on a shelf then into stacks. My wife hates it but oh well. Jim i might have to copy your idea.

I found the recycle bin is a perfect storage "receptacle".... :rofl:

I have a buddy that has issues back into the very early 50's - boxed and dated - we had a good laugh about it the other day - since he's never ONCE looked at any of them since they were read the first time around. BUT he can't bare (? bear) to toss them now.

I store mine about a foot from the watering hole and then they are recycled and replaced.:unibrow:

Thats a really good idea Jim, I think I might use that.
I usually keep the magazines that have good info in a pile and the ones I dont want anymore get stacked up and i'll take em to a car show in a box that says "Free Car Magazines". They usually disappear pretty quick.

Okay so i keep some on a shelf in my office and recently I started getting most of the magazines i get digitally. Therefore they are saved on my hard drive. Takes up much less space and If i need to go back and look at an article i can go to the digital version.

The best part is i have 100 issues on my home, work and laptop so I always have them at my disposal.

Atttached is a print screen of the Zino reader - the quality is perfect and as you know the print screen features sucks.
