LSx Engines painted Chevy Orange
I've already decided what to paint my enigne, but I was wondering what you guys think about painted LSx engines.
Chevy Orange, Gloss Black, or something else (body matching color, etc.) |
if it's an iron block I like an eggshell black, not full gloss. Of course Chevy orange is cool if you're doing an old school theme, but my current LQ9/LS3 headed setup is an eggshell black. Gives a very clean look in my opinion.

I voted Chevy Orange. Look at the GMMP LSx engines.
Look bad ass!! |
I painted my aluminum block cast iron gray.

Depends on the rest of the car.

I am partial to the orange. My 5 yo son did the paint work on the block and valve covers.

I agree with Todd.... sad to say... :>)
Depends on the rest of the car and it's "purpose"... a show car should probably have a matching block to the paint scheme... a street driver - the black the Jody suggested... and to me (personal preference) I'd only ever do chevy orange on a 100% "restoration" if that was the original color. My buddies black 56 - has a BBC painted a beautiful RED... and with the black inner fenders and billet --- the red really livens up the engine compartment... and is "kinda" like the orange... So ---- like Todd said -- it depends... http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...6/IMG_0928.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...6/IMG_0783.jpg |
That is a sharp looking engine bay.:wow:
VERY NICE!! |
