Horsepower vs. Torque
 
I was trying to explain the difference between HP and TQ to a buddy of mine and found this. It is a good explanation and kind of funny.

Yep. Torque gets you off the line in a hurry but if you don't have a great horse power curve the vehicle is going to slow down as the rpms increase. The L98 TPI motors are a great example of how a torque motor feels great off the line but utterly falls on its face from the lack of horse power as you keep going. Of course better gearing can help :)
