Ultimate Restorations 70 Camaro Restomod

Hey guys, Here we have a car were currently doing for a customer of ours at our shop in Danbury,CT Ultimate Restoration, a 70 1/2 Camaro Split Bumper. The cars owner Scott has had the car for over 30 years and its been sitting in his garage awaiting restoration for a good part of him owning it. The car was very clean to start with, and was an original 4 speed car with black interior. We got the car with the drivetrain and interior removed, then we dissassembled the rest of the car and sent it to the blaster to start with a clean slate. http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/car2015.jpg

Overall the car was in very good shape, with minor rust here and there, here was the worst of it... http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/car2005.jpg

http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/car2006.jpg

So we did a little surgery and filled in a few holes in the floors and trunk

After the floors were sound, we cleaned all the metal in the seams and layed down some fresh seam sealer http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/car2031.jpg

With the inside all set, it was time to start attacking the body, We had etched primed the car right when it came back from the blaster to prevent any sort of rusting and then we worked from the roof of the car down. http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/car2051.jpg

After Priming and blocking the car 3 times and fitting the doors and fenders, it was time to take the car back apart to Por 15 the floors, and undercoat the underbody. http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/car2026.jpg

We couldnt drop the ball on the suspension, so the front sub frame was fully dissassembled, and sand blasted. Then we seam welded the whole subframe, and smoothed it all out. After that it was time for reassembly, we installed all polyurethene bushings throughout, and bolted it into the car. http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/car2049.jpg

We then installed our wilwood brake kit and started to wire the car and assemble the firewall. http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Cars215-1.jpg

Then we dissassembled the whole rear end, stripped it down and painted it and rebuilt the whole thing and installed it with new springs with poly bushings. We also painted our new gas tank. http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/Cars210.jpg

Then we ditched the rear drums for a matching set of wilwoods. http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Cars127-1.jpg

After that, We got a nice big package in the form of a 450+ Hp 383.. But frankly the engine color wouldnt match the theme of the car... Sooo we stripped it down and painted it body color and added our own dress up items and dropped it inbetween the frame

Then we got our 4 speed rebuilt, painted and detailed that, and installed it with a scattershield painted body color, and installed our hooker coated long tubes. Then it was time to fabricate our exhaust. http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/a...ro/Cars449.jpg
