Wiring nightmare 69 camaro with lt1 now going to ls2

Here's the problem guy's,my 69 camaro has the tilt column motor and trans out of a 95 trans am,now I'm swapping in a ls2 trailblazer motor and trans, the main problem is the under dash wiring I don't no what the hell I've got under there, looks like the main harness has been hacked into with the lt1 wiring harness, everything seemed to work decent but i'm not sure about it.I would like to start over and redue it all using the same column but with just a new harness anyone with any idea on this.THANKS!

Jason, you might be best to try and start from scratch (depending on what shape the rest of the wiring is in). Some good choices might be american autowire or ISIS.

BTW, I got your message earlier. I will call you back tonight.

i would second that idea. If you have a bundle of wires and don't know if they are all in use, it may be a good idea to start clean. that way you know what everything is and where it goes.

however if money is an issue, and it usually is, then take each wire one by one and follow it from the fuse block to where it goes. that way you can get rid of the wires you don't need and make a diagram of your fuse block indicating the wires you do need.

I went through my fuse block when i did my ls swap. I was able to pull out unneeded wires from the block and route the new ls wires right through the original block through the firewall. Looks original and clean.

good luck
