Full size chevy suspension help

I have a 61 Chevy Impala with air ride in it. Other than that all I have is typical jobber shocks, stock manual steering, boxed stock trailing arms in the rear and stock a arms up front.

I am looking to bring the suspension up to a respectable performance grade now so I can have some more fun with it. It is a street driven car and most likely wont see an actual track but would like to have it up to par.

I am looking into sway bars, a arms, trailing arms, power steering, shocks.......and anything else you may have to recommend as I am a rookie at this stuff.

Any direction as to what ones to use and or not to use and why would be much appreciated.

For those who have not seen the car here is a link to a mag spread on it.....

it is the issue with the bikes on it and starts at page 23 i think.

Check out the Hotchkis TVS minus the springs (because you have the airbags). Something similar to Carson Lev's '59 which has the same setup.

well... since you have an air tank, compressor, solenoids etc allready in there.. im going to recomend you to call ridetech and get a full suspension package with a arms, shockwaves and swaybars....

they have really transformed airsuspension from just level controll to actual well cornering setups.. you get great ride quality.. their awesome shocks (and they really do have great shocks) and highly progressve springrates allong with a fool proof.. install in a weekend setup that works...

http://www.ridetech.com/shop/index.p...roduct_id=5549 that minus the airpod....

Im runnin Global West tubular control arms up front with 2 inch drop spindles, CPP 500 steering, amazing products. I boxed my rear lower control arms for strength and also ran a global west adjustable panhard bar. Just my 2 cents
