69 Rambler #2

GUYS

I will show you my next ride.
69 rambler american, rechromed trim and bumpers, all glass reasealed.repainted. Box stock 199 ci 3 spd on the column. New carpet ,seats recovered, owned by the same guy for about the last 30 yrs.
All the paper work from new, mint.
Only reason i knew what a rambler was because of this car.13 plus years ago i dated his daughter and he was painting it at that time. I ran into him at my new job. Asked about the car, he said i have it and if you want it , its yours for 2k....DOH!!!!!! http://i907.photobucket.com/albums/a...69rambler3.jpg

Very nice shape. You can't ask for a better car to start with. Glad to see you got another project. Good luck with it.

Serious score!!!! Very nice. What are the odds huh? A car from your past and that important to boot! Now years later it's yours and you know the history too. Pretty cool deal!

you mentioned it needs wheels and?? A little more snot under the hood. Or not, maybe just exhaust to give it a decent sound and cruise it as is?

Actually I kind of like the wheels and the whole look of the car. It could be a killer sleeper with some suspension mods and a LS motor with a nice quiet exhaust. Just a thought....:D

another

:D
Im gonna drive it for a while and just enjoy an old car.
I will probably just work on detailing AND tinkering with the inside with new seat belts and little stuff.
Life has changed for me and i figure ,better to have simple and drive something than just a rolling project shell that needs to start over.
Im just FOCUSED on the new job and put "Rad" on the back burner.
Ive been talking with a suspension company that is developing a bolt in handling suspension for amc cars about using my other rambler as a fitment tool. So i could have some cool stuff coming late in the year.
I see wheels/tires and brakes as nice upgrades for this car. You can only go 7 wide on these cars without cutting. so that keeps cost down.
I just like the fact im scoring a nice refreshed car for cheap.

Your last line really says it. And is most important. A good cheap car with a serious "cool factor" built in. What ever you do with it will only make it better.

Before I started on my car I loved driving it the way it was and believe me it didn't look anything as nice as that one does. Enjoy it.

Seriously, a STOCK 5.3 with decent tires and brakes.......a lot of fun and 20+ mpg too! (T56 units are going pretty cheap these days on E bay too.)
