I know many of you are tech gurus, anyone have an Iphone 3gs?
I am looking at getting the Iphone 3gs Monday (AT&T) and would like to hear some input. I also have been considering the Motorola Backflip, but am liking the Iphone better. Can any of you give me the good / bad on these things? I appreciate it !

its a great phone and PDA! ive had them all and wouldnt own anything else. I have a company provided blackberry and its really nice but the iPhone is unmatched. Plus it is Apple technology

I have the 3GS 16 gig. I've really had no problems with it. The only down side for me so far is that I have to charge it every night. It goes through the battery pretty quick. There's quite a few helpful apps that you can download. Because of my work I had to get a hard case. I got the Otter Box and love it. The only thing it won't stand up to is getting run over by a car/truck.

I've got the 32GB 3GS, absolutely love it! In the short 6mos that I've had it, most of my friends have gone through numerous Blackberrys, HTCs or what have you. As for the battery issue that zbugger stated, there are ways to help. First off, turn the brightness down to at least half. Doing this stretched my battery life to almost 2 days, with frequent goofing off online. Also, turn the 3G off whenever you don't really need it.

Get the Iphone you won't regret it. You will have to recharge everynight though. No big deal. Plus it charges from your computer. I have 3G 16g.
I have several thousand songs and XM to my phone that I can play in my car. There is an app for practically anything you can think of. |
I was deciding between the iPhone and the G1 and the difference for me was the keyboard and the fact that the app store didn't gouge the crap out of you for every app.
I decided on the G1. |
I wish Verizon had the IPhone because I don't care for my Storm. I think the Iphone is a much better phone but AT&T coverage in Southern California is not highly rated which is why our company uses the Black Berry's. I am not sure how much better it is up your way? In the end having good cell range out weighed havng the cool phone.

iPhone all the way... LOVE MINE... and here's what I love about it:
I can use every single function it has WITHOUT having ever read a book or instructions. I NEVER have to even think about how to make something "work" - its so easy... you just poke and it happens. Now having said that -- AT&T does have some "issues" with speed and dropped calls - but frankly - after having a cell phone for 20 plus years - and having had a phone on every carrier known to man - NONE OF THEM are any good. They all have their bad coverage areas - or lousy customer service etc. You ask 20 people what they really think of their carrier - and most will complain about their current one. |

The one thing I don't like about the Iphone is how easy it breaks. Pretty much everyone but me at work has a Iphone and they're all on their 5th or 6th ones.
