how to install crank pulley...more complicated than it sounds....
I picked up a CV Products ex nascar pulley set off ebay. The kind that has a mount for a gilmer style pulley on the front (for dry sump). I'm trying to put it on a small chev. The problem is that I can't figure out the bolt setup. Normally, the bolt goes on the outside of the pulley after you bolt in on right? Well can't do that because of the aditional mount on the front. There is a small recess in the back of the pulley, but not big enough for the big washer that goes on the bolt. Is there a special bolt/washer setup nascar uses? I looked on the ARP website and found nothing. I have seen this setup on sbc's before so I know it can be done.....Any help would be great. Thanks, Jason

Searched all over the net. Found nothing.... Took your advise and sent an email. Waiting for response. Thanks, Jason

My ATI balancer takes the bolt inside the balancer vs. the old stock style dampener that required it on the outside of the pulley. I bet the balancer is the problem.

Crapola....I think I'm s.o.l. After readding Vegas's post I immediatly checked my balancer. I agree, that's the problem.I looked at all the new 'good' balancers (not cheapo ones) and they are all like that, where the bolt is inside the hub of the balancer. I have aTCI rattler that I bought when they first came out (like ten years ago) and its totaly flat. New versions have the reccess. Bummer. Maybe I can have a machine shop chuck up the pulley and turn it to fit my existing bolt? Jason
