Lateral-g Forums - Mini tubs or add metal

So I found a local fab guy that is going to help me with the rust issues on my nova, and since it needs 1/4 skins anyway, I decided to mini tub it. I was going to get the dse tubs, but he suggested just splitting the wheel wells and adding metal to extend the tubs. I don't want a 13" wide wheel, but he says I can fit a 10" wide easy which is fine with me. So my ? is this: which is the better way to go, dse deep tubs or fab up my own?
