Ok, you guys are smart. What are your thoughts here...
Viper Spec T-56 vs. TR-6060 vs. T-56 Magnum.....
Please read first... http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/manual...vs-tr6060.html Thanks- |
TR6060 won't work in a retrofit.. well, not easily at all
The Magnum is the TR6060 but in a package that WILL retrofit easily.. it is missing the internal fluid pump of the 6060 for cooling. The Viper spec is just a slightly hopped up T56.. the Magnum is superior in most aspects.. NOW I will go read that thread.. lol |

Tremec told me to roll out of first in a burnout and then shift, or just start in 2nd. I haven't heard of the missed shift deal, I've missed a couple and had zero issues (both in the 2010 SS and my car) I will run this thread by the Tremec guys.. get thier input. I will say though that my Magnum shifts way smoother and nicer than my old T56. Also the One Lap Camaro made the switch and he feels the same. I would say both of our cars are pounded on pretty hard and have had zero issues. |
And I don't know what they mean in regards to getting parts.. finding replacement parts for the Magnum shouldn't be any more difficult than a normal T56 and they use the same part number clutches.
Seriously though, on a sub 700 ft-lb car the only way you are gonna break a Magnum is by "shocking" the trans.. like launching on slicks or what I posted above. And even if the Viper T56 proves to be a bit better on the track the Magnum is still superior on the street. So you need to decide where you'll be driving more. Small story I did on the Magnum: http://www.camaroperformers.com/cama...ion/index.html |
