nashville hotels

where is a good hotel in nashville to stay close to the goodguys show ?

Although the show is still weeks away, Nashvegas just got hammered with a weekend flood and may still be recovering in a lot of areas. One of the nicest get-aways there, the Opryland hotel was under 19 feet of water!
Just a FYI for folks calling around about lodging. You can look at www.tennessean.com pics and see how bad it was.
I've got in-laws there, if I can get some updates on the clean-up and where are dry areas, I'll post'em up here.

From the looks of Nashville, you might want to leave the car home and take the boat.

All hotels on the Goodguys hotel list are unaffected by the flooding. You can view the complete list here:

ps... you may want to bring that rock crawler for high waters.

Staying at the host. I looked all around.

The flooding here is unreal. I have never seen anything like it. I was fourtunate that I did not have any serious problems in my subdivision. It will be months before the Opryland Hotel is reopened. LP Field, which is where the Goodguys event is held, had floodwater inside the stadium up to the first section of seats and the parking lots were all underwater. However, as of today the Cumberland River has started to drop a little bit, and the water is no longer inside the stadium. The LP Field parking lots are dropping as well. The Cumberland River is expected to be at or below flood stage by Friday.

I hope they can get everything cleaned up by the time the show rolls around. I'm sure Nashville could use the slight economy boost that a Goodguy's show brings along with it.

Dennis, I think Goodguys will be good to go later this month. FEMA has stepped in now to help, hopefully this will help the recovery move along even better. Quite honestly, things seem to be doing pretty good considering the conditions.
