"carbon Fauber" shifter plate & gauge cluster

Just got my console shift plate and Autometer guage cluster back from a hydroillusion place. I love it, and think it came out pretty good. Of course I would have loved to do them in real carbon fiber but I think this is the next best thing. Place called VC Finishes did them, very professional and courtious, and good prices, with fast turnaround, I highly recommend them.

Here are a few pics:

That has to be one of the nicest "Carbon Fauxber" finishes I've ever seen. Most of them don't even look anything close to correct or have lots of flaws; that however looks right and the finish quality is excellent. Kudos to the shop that did the work.

What was the cost if you don't mind sharing?

Thats exactly it Max... Pretty cool technology. I did alot of research in trying to either make or cover the guage piece myself in real carbon fiber, but found it virtually impossible to do with my limited equipment because of all the strange contours. It might even be very difficult for an experienced and well equiped shop. both pieces cost $47 + shipping. The place, VC Finishes, is great....

Rob, it looks great, the detail really shows in your pictures. Does VC Finishes have a website?

It looks very nice. Good info for others too.

Neat looking results and a very cool deposition process. Reasonable pricing too. How long did it take them to get the pieces done?

Took about 2 1/2 weeks total turnaround, but Thanksgiving was in the middle of that also....
