Official Intro
I have been on here for awhile, but just recently did I have something worth posting.
I am working on a 56 Chevy 4 door called "Four of a Kind". It is AWD w/ a corvette rear and s10 4x4 front suspension. I'm using a 92 corvette quick ratio R&P unit. Because of it I am running into difficulty locating the steering shaft around the front diff. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Pictures moved HERE. Mal |

thats some pretty impressive fabrication work. That is going to be a pretty cool project.

Looks good! What size tube, and wall thickness?

Thats over my head. However, I can appreciate all the hard work going into a project like that.

steering problems
I was looking at your project pretty sweet why are you using that rack the olds Brvada came with a rack, the streeing shaft is relocated to the middle of the diff case. But if you must use that rack the steering shaft must come stright up to the upper frame rails the over with bearing-style steering universal joint with splined rack adapter joints and rod ends to support the steering shaft with the custom fenderwell you will keep it clean under the hood you might have to use a under dash master cyclinder with a 90 drake padals.what is the ride height? and you know that all 4 tires size must be the same height.

im working on a brake booster mount for tri-5's right now, it relocates the brake booster outboard and up, so that it actually tucks up under the driverside fender, obviously it wont work with factory inner fenders, but with that much fab work...i doubt a set of custom fenderwells is outa the question.
the set-up will be used on a few different tri-5's we are workin on currently, the 56 nomad that i posted pics of, which sports full air ride, is the design "mule" for the whole thing.... so tire clearance shouldnt be an issue when its finished. i personally dont like under dash master cyl set-ups, checkin brake fluid is a pain, and it never fails that some gets into the carpet. usually in a car like these...hidden space is at a premium... so relocating it outside and freeing up under dash space is great. btw.... the tires may be different sizes...but the gear ratio must be changed accordingly |
Thanks all for the kind words of approval. I can not take credit for the work though. I was blessed to find CSC Racing in NE Canada to do the work for me. I am basicly seeing this for the first time too so we are all  together.

Mal, that looks damn cool. Too bad you'll have to cover all the fab work up with a body.
