My '64 'Vette

Hey all,

OK, I can't say when this thread will end, but here is the start.

I'm working on a '64 'Vette convertible that's shall we say challenged.

The plans at the moment is to have a custom tube chassis with all 2010 ZR1 suspension components (with the appropriate mods to fit under the fibreglass).

As of now, I have all the various suspension components in boxes (rotors are on their way, but dang those Brembo calipers are massive!).

The rack that should be here in a week is from Woodward, thanks to some recommendations on the forum. :lateral:

The sway bars are from Pfadt (http://www.pfadtracing.com/catalog/p...roducts_id/38). I have to narrow them to fit.

I have a Currie Fab 9 IRS rear end that I plan on running custom Driveshaft shop CVs that will handle a minimum of 1000HP.

For an engine, I plan on a twin turbo LS. A T-56 Magnum 6 Speed transmission with a little added beef will be swapping the cogs.

I plan on 265/35ZR19 in the front, P345/30ZR19 in the rear.

Well, need to keep working.

"P345/30ZR19 in the rear."

Are you trying to keep this a convertible or will it be a roadster? That tire may wreak havoc on the top assembly. Hedges Speed Shop claims the top still works with 325/35R19's on this 67:

I have my doubts, I'm going to check it out sometime this summer.

My poor 65 project has been stuck in neutral for the last ten years. I just love some of the new chassis options that are out now - makes my Car Creations chassis look like a dinosaur.

It sounds like an awesome project. I'll enjoy watching this one come together.
Good luck with it.

Glad to see another Corvette in the crowd -- looking forward to seeing your project develop. Good choice on suppliers. Woodward and the Driveshaft Shop both have great products and service. Do you have a removable hardtop? That is how I solved the big tire versus convertible top problem. I still see C2 removable tops for sale at reasonable prices. What chassis are you going to use? Good luck and keep us updated.

Love the project & you have a great little worker to share in the fun I see.
Keep us informed.

No hard top yet. Will need to figure it out.

Am thinking of a custom soft top, but will have to see.

The frame is from SRIII.

DANG! That chassis looks like it could handle whatever you throw at it. Nice & beefy!
