Hey Chris
What do you want to know? I'm doing a 6.1 HEMI in my 70 Cuda... |
Dang Ned, you just dropped a bomb on the pastor.
To think I had to research that stuff for months going through that last year. :) |

Hard to make any money doing stuff that you get bogged down in... Learning new stuff while trying to make a living can be 'a very expensive education'... Just something to think about... Sometimes it pays to say "sorry". |

From all of what I've seen the RMS front coil over/engine cradle/K-member is the way to go. Then TTI headers and Milodon pan. You don't want one with a coil over that mounts to the factory shock towers. For the trans go Keisler. RMS, TTI, Keisler is the most popular setup people are using. |
thanks for all the info guys-

Ron is a
dude on this site with Muttstang and on pro-touring with the $5000 mustang build, did one of those swaps and used LS electronic on a Cuda a few years back. He would be a guy to speak with.

Stay away from anything having to do with F.A.S.T. Their setup is more tunable for absolute maximum HP but is quite a pain to link together and can only be used with and LS style manual throttle body. Which by the way requires having an ugly throttle cable draped across the intake and going thru the firewall. The MULTIPLE harness setup is annoying and has way to much length for all connectors. Their harness is modular meaning you can choose which components you use like injectors, coil packs,etc...and if you want to control the newer automatic transmission it takes an additional computer and additional harness to work that as well. All adding up to higher prices for extra packaging and and extra work to install. I also installed one of these systems in a challenger and it was such a headache. Both cars had aftermarket front suspensions but Street and performance also makes a shorter oil pan and pickup tube for stock k-member clearance. Hope it helps you out! |
The new Challengers are available with a t56, which AFAIK is the same in the SRT-8 as the viper box, juding by all of our transmission rebuild tools SPX sends us at the Dodge store I worked at are all the same for the VIPER/Challenger SRT8 T56.
I'm looking into swapping my cousings Charger SRT8 to 6 speed eventually, and using off the shelf OEM Challenger 09+ R/T or SRT stuff seems to be the way to go. |
