Where are you guys buying your electrical hardware for trunk mount, battery cables/clamps/bulk head connectors etc?

We have some cool multi wire bulkhead connectors. We use AAW battery kits.

I will get some pics of the bulkhead connectors up in a little bit

I'm getting ready for some too.

I bought my battery cables from Quick Car Racing....same stuff DSE sells/uses. Prices are slightl cheaper direct form them.... good heavy duty cables and connectors etc

You could also just go to your welding supply place and buy welding ground cable, comes in different gauges and get what ever length you need, it's made very well and cheap!

YUP!!! Welding cables. Super fine strands so they are easy to route. Good heavy duty insulation but remember, its rubber not vinyl or whatever the really good car cables are insulated with. So outside routing should be kept to a minimum. But I routed my cable from the trunk to the front of the car inside the car so that wasnt an issue. I used 0000 cable and it was right around a buck a foot. And there is no voltage drop, big cable.

For a guy wanting to use cables that are meant for a car really check into the stuff napa supplies. They have some of the best primary cables I have seen yet. And yes, you will pay a lil more for it. But they have some very nice cable. Again, fine strands but what I think sets it apart from some other auto specific cables is the insulation. Pretty thick heat and chemical resistant insulation. But its super flexible. Its a really thick insulation, but its a quality insulation. Not a hard vinyl or plastic outer insulation. More of a semi-soft (not like rubber soft though) vinyl or whatever it is. Once you handle it you can see the diff. Really good stuff. JR

Not all welding cables are created equal.

Yes, I have used welding wire for rear mounted batteries with great success. Just a couple of things to consider:
-Make sure the insulation is oil resistant and heat resistant up to 275 degrees.
-Be sure to increase the size due to the long run. As minimum use #1 although I used single O or better yet double OO in the racecars.
-Of course it must be multi-strand.
