Door Lock Installation Kits

Modo Innovations has developed a new kit for installing aftermarket door locks in the 67-69 Camaro/Firebirds.

Why an install kit?
Normally, aftermarket actuators include rods that must be bent by the installer and clamps to attach these rods to the lock plunger rods. The first issue is the clamps, they made of aluminum or some sort of pot metal and not very thick so it is easy to strip out the threads when tightening the set screws to attach the rods. Over time the clamps can become loose and cause your power door locks not to operate correctly or stop operating altogether. If the rods are not bent or attached in the right place they can affect the way the plunger feels, making it hard to lock or unlock by hand. Mounting the actuators can be a headache as well. Will they clear the door panel once installed, will they be out of the way of moving widow mechanisms and will I be able to put both screws in to the door or will I have to use the strap?

Included in each kit are powder coated steel brackets, fixture formed 304 stainless steel rods, rod clips, hardware, detailed instructions and drill templates. One kit is available for the 67 Camaro/Firebird and one kit for the 68-69 Camaro/Firebird and 69-72 Nova.

The drill templates locate the mounting hardware for the brackets. The mounting hardware is hidden behind the door panels. The brackets are manufactured so that they place the actuator out of the way of all the internal moving window mechanisms. The brackets also place the actuator in the proper alignment with the latch. The kit utilizes the unused hole in the door latch as the hook up point for the supplied fixture formed actuator rods. One end of the rod is manufactured to fit into the actuator and the other for the rod clip. (there is a driver’s and a passenger’s side rod and clip) The rod clips snap into this unused hole, then the rod into the clip. With a ¼ twist of the clip, it snaps over the rod to secure it into place.

The price for the kit is $69 + $14 shipping
To order call 940-391-9002

The kits are the same parts only the drill templates are different.

Thanks Tony, as you know this has been in the works for a while now.

I will be adding a keyless entry kit soon, I hope, waiting on suppliers for parts. I added detailed wiring instructions and parts to the kit so it will be a breeze to install.

I got this in an email from a customer today about this new product and wanted to share it.

"I installed the locks in the door using your brackets, and I've got to say that was the easiest thing I have done on my car yet. I couldn't be happier with them."

Mark

Thanks again for all who have purchased our products.

I was attempting to order a power door lock kit for my 67 Camaro, and when I was filling out my address I was unable to continue because Hawaii is not a choice. Ummmm... ???????
