Rear seat with mini-tub on 69 Camaro
What are most of you guys doing for the rear seat and a mini tub in their 69 Camaros? Modified stock seat...custom...?
|
I've never done it myself but apparently some people use the convertible seat because its a little narrower.

We used the Mikes Custom Car rear seat. It is a little pricey. Also had to add about a 1" of foam on each side but overall it looks real good.

Do the rear "door" panels need to be modified as well?

If using the DSE tubs, the covertible seat is still too long, and the rear panels with the arm rests/ash trays are not deep enough. The flat rear interior panels will work fine, either std or deluxe. I am about to start cutting the springs in my rear seat to fit. Not realy sure what the best way to go about it is, but just going to lay the seat frames in there & start marking/cutting i guess. Maybe someone that has done this already wil chime in on the process.

Yes except for the package tray and console. The interior guy made a custom console and package tray. The front seats are 99-02 firebird seats. |

Scott, We were going to use the factory seat but wanted the front and back seats to match. I would do what you were saying. Lay the top part in and cut the frame as needed on each side and then weld in some round stock to stiffen it. Then remove the top part and do the same to the bottom section. |
