67 Camaro Vert?

My buddy has asked me to go look at a 67 Camaro Conv. with him. What should I look for on these? Where can rust hide? This is suppose to be a "SOLID" car! Yeah! Help me out guys. Thanks.

67's always tend to rust in the usual places... quarters/wheel wells, etc. They are also particularly bad at getting rusty in the trunk pan and of course the floor pans, especially since it is a vert. Probably not telling you anything you didn't already know, but good luck with it anyway!

Besides the obvious outer sheet metal, the well area where the convertible top mounts is a weak spot, fold the top halfway back and look there. Also feel the convertible to header, feel across the vinyl and see if you feel any bubbles under the material

Thanks Frank. Great tips. I would not have thought about the header. My buddy has a custom shop. Mostly deals with traditional customs, lead sleds, at restos. This is slightly out of his wheel house so I am going to help a bit and see if we can move this toward a mild PT build.

Thanks Again.
