Need help picking tires
 

What's the widest I can run in the front and back with simple modifications? I don't mind a little cutting and hammering but I am not going to tub it out.

I think 245/40/18 in the fronts and I am hoping for 315/35/18's in the back. Would I be better off with just 295's in the back? And what's a good cheap tire? Honestly I just want them for looks. Want it to look nice and fat in the back, I like my girls to have a little backside. :unibrow:

Here my wheel specs if it matters. I know a guy that has 315/17's on his car and he got them on their without modifications so I am hoping to be that lucky.

18x8, 4.75" BS, 1.5" Pad, 5x4.75BP
18x10, 5.75 BS, 1.0 Pad, 5x4.75 BP

Putting a 315 on a 10" wheel will fold the sidewalls in and you lose a lot of the sidewall stiffness.
If its just for looks than i think the 315 would work, but a 295 would most likely be a better choice, and it would be a better balance with the 245 front. :thumbsup:

I agree 100%! I have had a 315 on a 10" wheel and didn't care for it! And I had them matched up with a 245 on a 8" wheel....hey - I didn't say it was a good match up! :lol:

Dammit I remember researching it and 315's would fit nice on a 10 inch, guess I was wrong. Do 295's look nice and fat? What happens if I loose sidewall stiffness?

Just gonna be a daily driver, not a race car.

the specific tire you use has alot to do with fitment. some brands are wider than others.

I'm a fan of taller tires. a taller tire actually gives you more ground clearance by merit of its larger diameter, but also makes the car look lower by reducing the tire to fender gaps. or in my case, fender to rim gaps. :D

Wow, a 315 on a 10" wide rim?

I have 275 BFG KDW-2's on a 10" rim and I really couldn't see me going any bigger than a 285 with the same brand tire, and have it look as good as it does now, although the KDW does seem to run a lot wider than a bunch of other tires I had checked out.
