real wings and splitters
 

on my '69 camaro i'm building for track days i am thinking about adding a front splitter and a rear wing like this one.

my plan is to have two deck lids one thats cut for the wing and one that has a rear spoiler on it for non track days. now if i leave the wing on when i drive around would i be a ricer or would the awesomeness of a vintage muscle car in race trim make it ok? :lol:

im not a big fan of that look.. perhaps you should comission a rendering and see how it looks before spending a couple of grand on CF stuff only to find it looks like a ghetto-ride

you need to make the wing mounts tie into your chassis, if not it will tweak your deck lid and not work as it should over 100 mph

What kind of speeds are you looking at? these thiings do not do much good unles syou are moving at a substantial speed
Just my two cents, spent plenty of time in a wind tunnel and lift/downforce/drag devices are usually for stability higher speeds and need to be tuned to do that, or the opposite and dangerous results may occur

already planned to be tied into the frame rails and cage. there are alot of people on corvette forum that just attach it to the deck lid and you lose some of the down force gained because of all the flex in the body.

Please don't.....Look at the other options other forum members have done, including making their own adjustable lip spoiler.

a true functional splitter needs to have a wing to balance it out with the down force that it will create. if you were meaning yes to a splitter and no to a wing?

a spoiler will not make 260 lbs of down force though.

I took it to mean, YES it will look ricer, and NO it will not matter that it's a vintage car.
