thinking about buyin a second gen T/A, any tips on problem area's i should check?TIA

The top of the cowl, the bottom of the A-pillars, windshield and back window channels, quarters, trunk pan, floor pans, rear frame rails, the corners of the dash where it meets the A-pillar this will usually give you an indication of what kind of shape the cowl is in, hinge pockets for the deck lid, and the lower section of the front fenders.

Everything that Tim mentioned plus bottom of doors along with floorpan. Check rear frame rails also. This will give an idea if car has been wrecked or hit hard at some point.
