Turn signals stopped flashing

My turn signals stopped flashing but all the marker lights work fine. Is this a fuse problem or grounding problem? They don't illuminate when you put the directional on.

69 camaro with AAW harness.

Thanks

I had this problem when I noticed my hazards/flasher switch was accidentally left on. My harness is from painless.

yeah, that isn't the case. Actually the hazards showed on inside the car but steady. Now it doesn't do anything. I checked for loose wires. I guess I'll be checking and hunting some more.

Check that your flasher hasn't come loose from the circuit panel.

doesn't appear to be.

well after digging, the hazards don't work, but they do light up if I turn them on and step on the brake pedal. Weird. All the bulbs are good and the fuses check out good as well. Any ideas?

well I figured it out. The stock replacement flasher does weird things with LED's. I got a fancy one and now it works fine. Hazards don't flash for whatever reason.

GregWeld 10-02-2010 07:15 PM

Devil is in the details -- which you left out - the fact that you have LED's. They don't pull enough voltage/amperage to make your OEM style flasher work.

Could have saved you some effort IF you had mentioned that little ditty.

Glad you got it.

Yeah.....I didn't even think of it.While I got ya, any idea why the hazards don't flash?

GregWeld 10-02-2010 07:34 PM

Check to see if you have SEPARATE hazard flasher. If so -- same problem - you'd need to replace it with a LED flasher.

You have a aftermarket wiring system... so see if there's another flasher - or circuit that is separate from the turn signals. Also - check to see if you have a fused flasher circuit.
