Can anybody check an HP Tuners scan file for me?

Trying to see if I'm getting detonation. Not even sure if a scan shows this or not.

I can send you the file.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

did you scan knock retard? I can open Efi Live but not HP Tuners anymore.

Yes I believe so Jody.

email it to [email protected]

I have HP scanner on my laptop...

IV, I will email you the files.

Took these vids with my phone, there is a distinct noise the car makes accelerating that is hard to hear. Trying to figure out if it's detonating.

Got em.

Gotta suck down some coffee before my eyes will work enough to see the screen. Gimme an hour or so.

Your datalog didn't record knock retard, but the timing is very jittery at cruise from either an over active timing table or knock burst and recovery. The strange part is the timing smooths out during hard acceleration and doesn't have the burst/recover pattern.

The timing doesn't look to be too high during cruise unless your car is 14:1 and burning 85 octane so you might have something loose that the knock sensors are picking up.

Your WOT timing is 28. The knock sensors might be turned off during WOT so the computer isn't lowering the timing. You will need to talk to your tuner about that or have the WOT part of the table brought down 5 degrees.

One other interesting thing I found is your long term fuel trims are always 12-18% positive. Either your fuel pressure is dropping, not set right or you need to rescale the MAF or at least clock it to see more airflow.

Thanks IV. I did notice full knock a few times.

Do you know if it's detonation I'm getting or not by the scan files??

I'll forward your comments to my tuner.

It probably is, but without adding knock sensor pids to the datalog I wouldn't be able to tell you.

First step, have your tuner do a global -5 degrees. See if the noise goes away and the timing smoothes out. If that has no effect, you have something vibrating. Check mounts, header clearance near frame, accessory brackets to block, etc.

Hey thanks very much for your help so far.
