What should I pay for labor to narrow my 12-bolt chevy housing and install new housing ends?

Can I rent an alignment jig instead of buying one for $400+?

Should I center the pumpkin or cut the same amount from both sides? Chassisworks frame doesn't offset the engine like the OEM frame.

Typical final width for '68 camaro to fit deep dish 12"-13" wheels?

i had the 12 bolt narrowed with 9" ends, straightened, blasted, gears assembled and custom axles and bearings made for under 1k from currie. the axles were about 450 by themselves and the gear assembly was 100 so just the narrowing wasnt too bad.

Thanks, my estimates are starting to creep up towards $1K too unfortunately. Between needing new axle to go with the ford ends and shipping this is getting too expensive for my budget. Apparently I can respline my axles but they are not designed for the press-on bearing and will not work with the ford housing end.

I will just respline my c-clip axles at Moser and narrow the rear locally. Can the tubes simply be taken out, cut, and pressed back in? I plan on having the tubes fully welded to the housing anyway.

Mike, I sold my OEM 12-bolt for good money which offset the cost of a brand new Moser 12-bolt from Frank. He sells them for an amazing price. Something I would consider if I were you.

I only briefly considered this. Don't know if being completely stock makes it more valuable or not. Mine may be original to the car but the spring pad welds don't look original, look bigger and sloppier compared to the rear under my dad's firebird. Front right corner on the base of the left pad, right where the bolt goes through was purposely cut out for some reason as well. Figured this would discourage interest.

It does have new Moser axles w/ 1/2" studs, new eaton posi, new richmond 3.08 gears, bearings etc. aluminum TA performance cover. All less than 100 miles on it. I would take the 13" disc brake kit off but still have the original drums. value estimates?

I've got ~ 250(axels) + 450 (posi) + 150 (cover) + 250 (gears and install kit) is over $1100 (plus tax, shipping) bucks worth of practically new equipment.
