Question About A-body Frames

I'm trying to sell my 72 Chevelle frame and a guy asked me will it fit a convertible 71 GTO. I know it will fit a hardtop, but unsure if it will bolt up to a convertible.

It will, just not as strong as a convertible frame.

As JPO1970 said, it is not as strong, since the convertible frame is factory boxed. To strengthen my 66 Chevelle frame, I bought a damaged El Camino frame and removed the box sections (the same as a convertible) and stitch welded them to my frame -- looks factory and would give the strength required by the more flexible convertible. I would be hesitant to run the unboxed frame in a convertible.

I would never run an unboxed frame in anything, convertible or TH, and its easily boxed with 3/16 plate.. judt be sure to make room to install the center body bushing :-)
