Best Harness?

Hey guys, Im looking for your opinions and experience in what you think the best aftermarket wiring harness is. Iam going to be completely rewiring my Dads 80 Camaro soon. I have alot of experience with Painless' 12/18 circuit kits (installed 3 of them) but I know there are alternatives that may be better. Let me know what you think. BTW im just looking for a basic 12 circuit harness.

I used AAW for my Nova but used their full replacement kit and it had tons of options. Their Highway 92 kit works great as well if you plan on terminating your own circuits and mounting it in a custom spot

And the AAW means American Auto Wire..great stuff.

AAW is a fine product . If you are looking for a cost effective alternative you might give Kwik Wire a look. Recently bought KW14std and it is well made and saved me $$$.

We've installed a bunch of EZ wire harness.

Great value IMO.

Just my two cents, AAW is the way to go!

The nice part of their "classic update" kits are they come with all the factory connectors and tail light sockets etc. So if your not modifying the harness too much, its the best bang for your buck with a ton of accessories.

Their Highway series are awesome for custom installs. You mount the fuse block and terminate all the wires on your own. The 22 circuit panel even has integrated electric fan relay. They include a ton of wire for every circuit so you can route it anywhere you want and a ton of connectors.

I have found that compared to the kwik wire and ez wire, the highway series (which are the same style of harness, terminate yourself/universal) are almost the same price, and include connectors, great quality wire, switches, etc.

And their connectors are not the cheap insulated crimp ons, but are a double crimp that hold the wire casing and strands!

The wire seems to be better than painless too.... the casing is alot more flexible and plyable.

thanks guys for all the input. I went ahead and ordered the AAW Highway 15 circuit kit. I started installing it the other day and have to say I like it better than painless so far. Im impressed :)
