McLeod RST Street Twin Clutch for 69 Camaro
Has anyone here have experience using one of these clutches? I would like to use one on my BBC 69 Camaro with a TKO 600.

I can't remember if I have the RXT of RST. I think it's the RXT due to the 1000hp rating. I've liked mine so far....

No experience yet - Pro Jackstand class - but I am planning to run one. FWIW, I'm told it's a potential problem w big HP/Cam and an aluminum flywheel...

i got my rst for around 500 back when they were introduced a few years ago. i didnt find any bad reviews at the time and can't think of any since. |
Now that I think about it, I had a conversation with McLeod and the reccomended the RXT. I've only got 666hp and the RST will certainly hold that power. The problem is the road racing. From my understanding, the RST is more of a street/strip clutch. The clutch is made of a more organic disc and will fade with repeated abuse. The RXT is a more agressive ceramic type design made for more torture. The 1000hp rating should hold up to about anything around here. The pedal effort isn't any worse than my Centerfoce dual friction.
Do your own due diligence.... |
i think the rxt is also a "puck" style design. i read about bad street manners, but obviously todd drives his on the street.

That's a myth. I've got a couple thousand miles on mine. I noticed a shudder at first but I was getting used to the clutch. I haven't heard any chatter. I'm happy with mine. Good drivability and made to put up to the torture I insist on.:D
