Can a mist green chevelle look good?

First of all I would like to say I am impressed with some of the projects you guys have going on. My name is Brian and I am in the process of rebuilding my 1970 chevelle from the ground up.
Currently, I am in the process of replacing a lot of sheet metal.
Heres my situation..

I love the protouring look that I have seen in magazine and many of the vehicles on this site. That being said I will be removing the emblems, wheel well moldings, rocker moldings and adding some 17" inch wheels.

I was thinking of retaining the factory mist green color with black SS stripes because most of the chevelles you see are red or black. I have a set of 17" TTII but I am willing to sell them for something that is more unique. I would lower it so the tires would start to tuck in the wheel well.
What would you do? Am I headed in the right direction? Will this color combination pop?

I am not just going for looks,My whole suspension and drivetrain have been done. I have added a 1.125/1 sway bars and I will soon be upgrading my springs,In the future I will upgrade the stock disc brakes.

Go for Green, My 68 is 69 Deep Fathom Green Metallic, a tad dark, but man it looks good,

All I can tell you is when we were heavy in muscle cars, we kept a row of 12 to 16 LS6 Chevelles (our specialty). Out of all the colors, the Green Mist was sold around, could not give it away, along with the Autum Gold. We boought and sold 30+ of those things, before we finally raffled that car through the Chevelle club to off it.

It depends on the reason you are building this car. If you do not think you will be selling the car in the near future then the resale value is not that important so go with the green if thats what you like. If, on the other hand, resale value is important to you then you might think about picking a color that has a broader appeal to the people that might be looking to purchase.

Just my two cents.

To me, resale value, and overall crowd / fan desiability are one and the same. If you don't mind being the guy with the "nice car, to bad it's that color" Car, then go for it.

I plan to keep the car for a long time but agreee that resale value and the number of turned heads are similar.

well I am back to where I started..

what color would you paint it? with or without stripes? and what body mods would you do?
I had a dark green interior but i guess that can be changed.
I am just trying to stimulate some ideas

Silver w/no stripes. But then that is for my idea. Could always try photoshop on a pic to see what appeals to you.
