70 Camaro Pro Street

So I have a 1970 1/2 Z28 Pro Street, Black Betty, that I built about 18 years ago. I originally bought a hugger orange Z and stuck a nitroused sbc in it and went racing.

Car got radical surgery when I went BBC.

The time, and money, have come where I want to finish and improve the car. Big stall, big motor and undersized rad have always caused the car to run hotter than I like. I bought a Be Cool rad module with twin 13" fans, good for 1000hp. To tighten up the steering a flaming river quick ratio manual rack and pinion assembly with new steering column, also tubular uppers and lowers and QA1 coilovers in the front with 400lb springs. Tons more little things like finishing off the interior, new dash, dynamat and hooking up the speedo etc.
Since I've been driving the car on the street forever some of the items are for show and some are for go.

Still toying with the idea of big brakes, 14" rotors in the front with 18" rims.
Keep the spool or go posi.
Less gear, I have 529 now and I'm thinking of 456.
Lower stall converter ??
Rear tires are 33-18.5-15 and if I went 18"rims in the front ,rears would have to be 20-22" to match. :wow:
Tranny brake is going into the TH400 with reverse shift pattern.

Is the pic of you at the drag strip in Luskville Quebec, CANADA? I think I've seen your car at some car shows.

You're good.
Yup that's me back in the early nineties, at Luskville, when it was still hugger orange.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but funny thing. I'm from ottawa area and been to Luskville many times. Maybe you recognize the car? Its in the process of a huge overhall now to. I've got 18's on it now and 14" brake rotors on the front. This is what it used to look like when it ran at Luskville.

I haven't been to Luskville in years. Four kids took a huge chunk of whatever free time I had.
Nice car, I wouldn't mind coming over and having a peak at your project sometime soon.

That's cool. I think I've seen your car at the Brockville Autorama or maybe Cornwall car show. Looking forward to seeing more pics.
