Lateral-g Forums - New from Long Island, NY

Whats up guys? My names Mike and i'm 18 years old from LI, NY. I'm building an '82 Z28 right now. This is my first car, got it when I was 14. I put a 355 solid roller sbc with a 5 speed in it and drove it for a little while during high school. Then I decided to paint the car, but it ended up turning into a huge project.

The car was pretty straight and never hit so there wasn't much body work needed. Paint is Subaru World rally blue off of an Sti. But once the car was painted I didn't want to put it back together the way that it was so the car came all apart again:(

These are custom subframe connectors i made out of 1 5/8 .083 chromoly tubing.

The cage is mounted off of the sfc's instead of being plated to the floor.

So that's where Im at now. All work was/will be done by myself except for layin down the paint. I'm building a 383 stroker, hoping to make around 550 hp, I have a lt1 t56 out of a trans am that will be going in it, and a 9 bolt borg warner rear. Gonna be going with a pro-touring type set up and I'll hopefully be posting more pics in the near future:D
