Flared ‘70 Camaro With Hotchkis Suspension
We love this ’70 Camaro built by Spectre Performance. It’s a great throwback to the early 80’s when flared Camaros roamed the streets and it brings back fond memories of the early days of Trans Am racing. We were very flattered when Spectre came to us for suspension.

That's pretty cool. A cross between old school flare and new tech with the LS motor and carbon fiber.

That's very cool. What is the purpose of the joints that connect from the firewall to the A-arm joints? Do these really help with lateral stiffening? I would assume that there is a stiffening bar on the inside of the firewall that these connect to because the firewall can't be that stiff. I could be off base here though...

It's a pretty decent looking ride in person. Sounds good too....

http://www.hotchkis.net/_uploaded_fi...540image_2.jpg Those bars are a huge help in reducing deflection in the front subframe. You’d be amazed at how much the front subframe moves during normal driving and even how much more it deflects during spirited driving. The firewall is very strong, especially at the location where the front fender bolts on. We picked the two locations on the firewall for the best triangulation. The forward mount at the upper control arm attaching hardware keeps the frame in the proper location so you can take full advantage of the front suspension geometry and makes the car much more predictable on the street and the track. We make Chassis Max Handle Bars for first and second gen Camaros. |
