Need Some Input
This is my first time posting here after watching for a while. I'm hoping to get some of the good info/opinions I usually see. I'm trying to get a plan together for my 69 Camaro when the body work is done. It's kind of a resto-mod project. It will be a driver, semi-aggressive, and maybe a track day once and a while. Im trying to decide on front/rear susp components. I've gotten a good look at other vehicles as far as stance, but need some opinions on options. I'm looking at the Hotchkis 2" Ft springs and Edelbrock shocks or one of the CoilOver kits from QA1. The price on the springs/shocks is 340 roughly or 399 for the economy coilover kit or 531 for the adjustable coilover kit (both from QA1). Is is worth is going to coilovers for my style of use? I'm using stock control arms for now and not sure if I'm going to upgrade or not. Any and all opinions are welcome.

Coilover suspension is amazing and high tech, but for the description of driving that you are planning, you may find a coilover conversion to be overkill. If you’re looking at our 2” drop front springs, have a look at our HPS shocks. We have them built to our specs by Bilstein. Carl Casanova’s 68 Camaro is a driver much like the type of car you’re building your car for. Super Chevy recently wrote an article about his car and his full Hotchkis suspension upgrade. Here’s a link to the article (which includes some pretty cool videos): http://www.superchevy.com/features/c...aro/index.html If you want to handle even better you should look at some upper control arms and consider performing the Guldstrand Mod. The Guldstrand Mod works best with tubular upper arms, so you don’t have to unnecessarily hack the frame to clear stock control arms. Subframe connectors will also be a noticeable upgrade. For handling, ours are the most effective while being the least invasive connectors on the market, while still allowing you to remove the rear leaf springs in the future. If you have questions or need help during your planning process, feel free to give our tech department a call. 877-735-6425 |
Appreciate the input. After listening and looking around I belive I'm going to go with the Hotchkis Rear Leafs and front springs with the Bilstein shocks and add the subframe connectors and rear shock tower brace. Now, if I could just make a decision on the 312 other things I have :willy:
