Aftermarket/racing style seats...

My seats are in a sad state. a lot of black duct tape covering up rips. Theyre 42 years old and falling apart.

Going for a restomod/pro-touring/streetfighter vibe with my car. I am a full time college student though so everything is on a very tight budget.

Anyone with input/pictures of aftermarket of racing style seats feel free to give me your input.

Also thought about being a little different and going for something along the lines of this:
http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-...uper-seat.html
BUT, that would definately not be pro-touring, and I have no idea if it would look weird in a 69 fastback mustqang. Never personally seen them in a musclecar.....

Lets hear yalls input,
Matt

Have you priced out just having the stock seats re-done?

If you don't get too fancy it might be an option to replacement.

I dont really like the stock seats and they dont hold me in place well enough when taking corners at speed. I want more of a racing look as well.

I really like the look of the kirkey road race seats, but I dont have a cage/roll bar.. would that be a problem? would they be comfortable enough for occasional dd duty? also how easy are they to get in and out of in a car? My 69 mustang sees alot of street use and I can be an aggressive driver at times. I would also like to start getting into the auto-cross scene

I'll admit this is not a great option, but being a college stident on a budget and the fact that the car will see street duty I'd skip the Kirkeys and take a look on eBay. There's some US made knock offs that will give you good support for street/AutoX duty. Just type in Recaro in the search box and see what comes up. Also, if you can swing it, Sparco USA offers a reasonably priced racing seat. Good luck!

Ive checked them all out but I was curious as to quality? I know they are knockoffs but are they decent? Ive also been searching the local craiglist for some lightly used seats. Anyone in the DFW area feel free to help me out

First of all, you're smart to be wary of the quality. Some of them go for $250, so you prob get what you pay for. Personally I wouldn't buy any seat without sitting in it first.

found some local seats.. ill post the link to the craaigslist add. $150 for a pair... probably cheap, but may be better than what im sitting in now. the smaller ones only have the 4 holes on the bottom, but the larger ones come with sliders and brackets..
