Thinking of painting my TT2's

Is this realistic? Would i have to sandblast them first? Is powdercoating an option? Thx for the advice.

You could powder coat them or paint them. Either option is possible and have their own pro's and con's. Those wheels aren't clear coated at the factory so you can just prep and paint/powder coat them like any other metal. No sand blasting necessary

IF YOU GO WITH POWDER COATING, YOU WILL NEED TO STRIP ALL THE PAINT OFF OF THE WHEELS. AKA MEDIA BLASTING. BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND GOING WITH PAINT/CLEARCOAT FOR DURABILITY. :thumbsup:

Did you paint them? I'm looking to paint my center spokes too.

Ours have been painted for 8 years and have held up great.

If your wheels are polished finish now, painting them is easy.

Get your self some painters tape, and some sand paper, and do yourself a favor and use Dupli Color's wheel paint, assuming you are going to rattle can them. The Duplicolor cans spray very even, and the paint holds up very well.

Sand the spokes, or the surfaces you are going to be applying paint. Clean the surface, tape off the areas not to be painted, and start with Dupli colors primer. Then follow with thin even coats of the color.

They'll hold well, here's an old Road Runner of mine I painted with their black.

Guy who bought it is local, and he says they still look great after 3 years!
