Aluminum Car Hauler?

I was looking at this trailer, it is from trailerworld.com

http://www.trailerworld.com/viewproduct.cgi?id=747

It is an 18' aluminum trailer.

Does anyone have one of these?

They are asking $6450 for it. Does this seem to be the going rate?

Are there any options that should be changed or added to this trailer?

I am not actually buying this trailer, my father-in-law is, so it is mine to use whenever i need to.

We also want to be able to carry a tractor on this (Mihandra 6000).

He already has a large enclosed trailer that can carry 2 harleys and a car at once.

So he told me to find an aluminum car hauler.

they are located in my hometown. they make a good product and sell alot of trailers. been around for quite a while. should be a little cheaper than a comparably equipped featherlite. i would rather have a featherlite if they have the exact same features tho.

Has anyone had any experience with an EBY trailer?

I seen them at the Nashville Goodguys and they seemed to be a nice trailer.

I think you need to know the weight of your tractor before you make a decision on the trailer. I have no idea what yours weighs, but I know some of the tractors we had growing up were very heavy ..... alot heavier than the cars we hauled on them . I have towed a ton of miles and I would go for the heavy axle option if available .... not a good place to be under rated for sure . Just my .02 worth.

The GVW (GVWR) tells you what you need to know --- so just add the trailer weight to the weight of whatever you propose to haul.... If the trailer is 2000 pounds -- then you can haul up to a 5000 pound "vehicle". The GVW rating on the EBY trailer was 7000 lbs.

The GCWR rating is the COMBINED weight of your tow vehicle and the trailer and load... and you can get a ticket for exceeding this rate. The rate should be on the vehicle (tow rig) or in the owners manual...

I got pulled over once because the jackass CHP thought I was a "professional speeder" (due to having a CB - radar detector etc) and then tried to write me up for being over GCWR. Fortunately I wasn't having any of his nonsense and knew more about it than he did and could show the DH the numbers.

Since i first posted this we have bought a heavy duty trailer for the tractor.

The aluminum trailer would be for our cars.
