Solidworks 2005 with Windows 7 64 bit?
Hey guys, I got a copy of Solidworks 2005 from a friend and I want to start playing around with it. I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and everything I've Googled says it won't work, even in XP mode. I haven't tried to install it yet.
I'm thinking about just buying another cheap small hard drive and putting my old XP on it for the Solidworks and boot to that when I want to use it. Anyone know of an easier way or have any tips? Thanks! |
see if said friend can get you a copy of 2011 :D

I doubt if it will work. Newer versions are installed as 32-bit or 64-bit.
Recently, I upgraded to 2011 SolidWorks on a 64-bit machine..... WOW.... what a difference!!!!!..... and the kicker is: no more RAM limitations (like on a 32-bit machine). --Eric |
