To weld or not to weld (fender extensions)
Gathering some ideas for my Camaro and was curious on what you guys thoughts were on welding the fender extensions. Or other tricks for a "slick" look up front.

I left mine as is and now that I have paint on it I wish I would have cleaned it all up in that area.

You just don't see that part of the car. It makes no damn difference, IMO. Except for making the car less serviceable. After building mine, I'm so over hiding this and shaving something that makes it a bitch to work on. :D

All we did on mine is weld up the bumper bracket gaps since I am not running a front bumper. Welded all emblem holes shut as well. Just cleaned up the look a bit.

I'm with Todd...
As long as you only do the lower extensions, then its not a big deal. If you do the upper and lower valance too, then you had better hope and pray you never have to take it off. It can be done but what a PITA it would be to get it on and off as one huge piece My friends El Camino has all that stuff welded up....top and bottom valance etc etc....looks great, but he's screwed if he has to take it off. |
