1st Gen Help? Where does rear harness run?
Can anybody let me know how the rear body harness runs (next to the bottom of the back seat - as it routes up/around the inner quarter to the trunk - as well as the overhead courtesy light?
I thought I remembered this - but as I was laying it out today I didn't see any natural way to route it - and didn't get pictures of this. |
The rear body harness will run along the LH side rocker, then route aft along the corner where the wheelwell and floor meet. If the stock wheelwells are still intact there may still be the sheet-metal tabs that hold the harness in place. The harness then runs though the passenger/trunk bulkhead on the far LH side.
The courtesy lamp harness attaches to the rear body harness just aft of the bulkhead. The wiring then runs up the sail panel, then across to the light. The GM Assembly Instruction Manual is a great reference for things like this. |

In other words, when you open the trunk lid and look to the left - where is the harness visible? Yes, an assembly manual would be great. Usually I build and run a custom harness. This car had new inner/outer quarters and floor put in so the tabs as well as any markings of the harness mount are gone. |
