Should trade my ls1/m6 camaro 98 camaro for a 67?
hi lateral g guys! I already posted this on a ls camaro forum , but I want to hear your answers please
I need you help with this one... I am in a dilemma whether to trade my ls1 camaro 98 for a camaro 67 with a 350 sbc engine. my car is a 98 z28 m6 with torquerv3 tsp camshaft, headers, lid, lca's, true Duals. my car its not mint, t56 4th gear syncro is worn. the 67 is a original equipped v8 350/th350, 2 piston Wilwood front brakes , most of the interior is inside the car, window moldings , seats, center console ,some emblems etc. it start and runs, trans is also healthy. it was parted out for paint but the paint guy quit and left it this way. he stripped the hood and fenders. heres the deal... i give my car as is, and get the 67 and $2,000 cash here some pics of the car , shoot only the rusted parts what do you suggest? dirty as hell too my plans in the future if I keep the 67 will be a ls1/t56 swap but for the moment ill stay w the sbc. i can do a lot of work myself but not paint. |
The 67 will bleed your wallet heavily. It's a basket case.
Being in Guatamala I'm sure shipping parts is going to cost a fortune too. Don't get me wrong, I think they are great looking vehicles, but it's really a question of how much you're willing to allow yourself to go into the hole with the 67. Unless you really want to spend all the money restoring it, I'd keep the 98. |
If you have something else to drive, trade it for the 67 and keep the 98! :D
Seriously, but if you don't have anyting to move with, don't do it. Yo creo que es una malisima idea que te quedes sin auto. |
Do you have to rely on the 67 as a daily driver? If you do, I would not trade. Too many unknowns under that paint, in the drivetrain and every other system in the car. (brakes, suspension, electrical.....)
If you can afford to tear it down and go through everything, sure. Go for it. But as a daily driver, fixing it as you drive it.....not such a good deal. |
