Does anyone know where to look on line to browse PPG color choices without having to be a member. They seem to make it difficult to buy their product.

Go to your local jobber. You have to be a PPG shop to access that information..

I always tell customers looking at colors to go to your local new car dealer and look at colors, it gives you a better idea of what a color will look like when it goes around curves and different body line. Plus if you go on a sunny day and then go back at night and on a cloudy day you can see how it will look in different light. Also go in to the dealer and look at it under the lights inside the show room. Than as Mario said go to your local paint jobber and ask to look in their chip books to find the color you want. :thumbsup:

Why do you ask for ppg specifically? You shouldn't be worried about the manufacturer of the base coat, just find a color you like and spray a good clear over it. Ppg has a line of colors called vibrance and also the have oem restoration colors. What are you looking for?

I was looking at PPG because the guy I was using prefers to spray it. I really did not want to pick a color from the car lots because I do not want my 69 Camaro looking like everyone elses Honda, Nissan or Kia. Not that they are bad paints, I just did not go through the trouble to build a car to look like a car where the production numbers are over 1 million.

Brand of paint makes no difference, because just about any paint code can be matched with any paint brand. Find the color/code you like (that is why someone suggested visiting dealerships) and give it to your painter. Most shops have color chip books you can look at
