Cleaning Aluminum Heads
 

I have a set of L92 heads that I bought used with 14K miles. They're in really good shape but need some minor cleaning. We have a parts washer at work with a chemical solvent that we use and I tried it with very little success. Will a Simple Green or something like that work? Everything else on this engine will be new, so I prefer the heads not to stand out like a sore thumb.

Try a wheel cleaner for uncoated wheels. I've used on intake manifolds with success. Also simple green might work. HTH, Tim
