I have Boyd coddington smoothie II's, there polished and I think there the cast wheel. Here's my ?, is it possible to get the wheels brushed or even do it myself ?

Yes. I have chrome wheels from HRE and I'm about to send them back to have the chrome stripped off and have them brushed and cleared. So, yours will be a less involved process.

Get a red scotchbrite pad and get busy. Brush in one direction only to keep brush lines straight as possible. Lot of work,but when it's done it's a lot less maintenance. I did it to my budniks,best thing I did to the looks of my car

Slightly off-topic but, for three piece HRE wheels, wouldn't it be a whole lot easier for HRE to just supply you with a new set of shells? I can't believe anyone would go through the effort and expense to strip chrome/Ni/Cu off of a set of shells in order to get back to bare aluminum, when new aluminum shells are readily available...?

Well you might get to yours first. I really dont plan on doing this untll winter, im to busy driving the hell out of it in the summer lol:cool:

i too am wondering the process? i found a nice set of used forged wheels id like all matte black, how easy would this be?
